Does Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak actually work?
|We have a Suzuki Vitara 1998 (AKA Sidekick / Tracker or Geo Prism), it has more than 300k km and the steering box made a lot of notices while turning the wheels.
I thought about replacing it and just before that I heard about the “Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak” “Problem Solver” (as Lucas calls it). I decided that there is noting to lose, so I will give it a try.
Lucas claims it will stop leaks from broken/dry seals and will stop rack and pinion problems and avoid noises from the box.
It is very simple to use it. just pump out of the steering oil from your steering and fill in Lucas’s oil instead.
Do not forget to turn your steering wheel from side to side few times while the engine in running in order to drain the air out of the system.
You can see how it effected my Suzuki in the following youtube’s video:
Bottom line, it did the work in my case. it is not that my box is silent as new now, but it is much better and it passed the MOT with no issues.
